In the Census, vaccines are defined broadly to include all forms of vaccine including seasonal vaccines such as the flu shot, one-time or occasional vaccines such as a polio vaccine, or exceptional vaccines administered during a pandemic such as Covid-19. Scientifically, a vaccine is a substance used to stimulate the production of antibodies and provide immunity against one or several diseases.
